History of the Church of God

Colloquially known as Hassell's History, this is the definitive book for Old School Baptist history. Though the author splits it into two parts (chapters 1-19 are a general history of the church from creation to the 19^th century; chapters 20-27 are a history of the Kehukee Primitive Baptist Association, and Primitive Baptists in America), I think of it as being organized into three parts: a commentary on the Bible (chapters 1-8), a history of the churches that followed the closing of the canon (chapters 9-19), and a history of the author's church association and Primitive Baptists at that time (chapters 20-27).

I have tried to preserve the original format as best as I could. Being a 19^th century book, some spellings may seem unusual, but I kept these in place. There were some clear spelling errors that I corrected, but unless I was sure that it was an error, I left it in. I tried to include all of the italics and small caps styling, but may have missed some. There may still be some uncaught errors in the text (chapter 9 had the most errors that I found, and chapter 7 the second most). If you find any errors, please reach out and I will update the source.
